- Unfortunately, you don't provide much info about what is going
- on. If you are NFS exporting (r/w) the mail spool directory, that
- is generally agreed on to be a poor idea, partly because of
- locking issues. Ask on comp.sys.mail if you really
- want to know why people constantly have problems doing it
- in heterogenous environments.

- You may be running afoul of some of the NFS locking issues.
- 405 IRIX has a whole new lockd (and 405C has one with a
- couple of minor ;) bugs fixed; in fact, the new lockd is one
- of two files in the 405C patch).
