- Every application you use would have to be rewritten to use alpha-blending.
- Not just the GL ones, but the X ones as well. That's a LOT of work.

- Why not pick a very small font for the console, just so you can keep it on
- the screen? An 80x24 window is only about 3.5x1.5 inches in
- -xchumacher-clean-medium-r-normal--6. O.k., it's hard to read a 6 point
- font, but you can switch to a bigger font when you get a console message.
