  13. Well, I've called SGI Support, but after missing the call-back I
  14. haven't heard a word from them so I'll ask here and maybe get a faster
  15. response.

  17. Background: I deleted the printer and added it again. (Had some problems
  18. with that, but managed to muddle around until I found the problem.) Once
  19. I got it added, it wouldn't print any jobs that were sent to it. The
  20. light would flash for a while, but nothing would come out. The support
  21. person, after several minutes of searching through the
  22. /usr/spool/lp/interface/ps file and nearly giving up finally decided to
  23. have me try putting 'echo "\004\c"' right after the 'cat "$file" 2>&1"
  24. line. This seemed to work fine.

  26. Current problem: Now, if we send more than one file that is relatively
  27. time consuming (like Postscript pictures) simultaneously, the first one
  28. gets through, but everything after that results in the flashing light
  29. with no printouts until everything has cleared the queue. We never had
  30. this problem before I had my mishap with deleting the printer.

  32. Any ideas about what in the world it's doing and how to make it stop?

  34. Oh, yeah, the printer is an Apple LaserWriter II.
