- In almost all cases, the individual owners of the systems perform
- the upgrade on their own with a small set of instructions. We
- use network installations from a few distribution servers located
- on the various nets.
-
- In the case of groups of machines, a system administrator will often
- walk down the line of systems invoking the commands on a machine by
- machine basis. In one of our labs, the consoles of the various systems
- have been changed to the tty ports which have then been connected to
- a single system. From that central server an individual uses a script
- to automatically load all of these systems.
-
- I believe what you really want is a method for a system administrator
- to install groups of machines from a central point via tty ports OR the
- network. I know we have a team of folks working on the installation
- tools for a future release. I'll forward your message to them.
