  18.                       CURSIVE RECOGNITION FOR PENPOINT

  21. Dr. Nag will outline the challenges facing handwriting recognition scientists.
  22. The talk will present the state-of-the-art in handwriting technology and
  23. projections for improvements in cursive handwriting.  Lexicus' cursive hand-
  24. writing recognition technology "Longhand" will be demonstrated running under
  25. the PenPoint environment.

  27. Dr. Nag is co-founder and president of Lexicus.  He has a PhD. from Cambridge
  28. University and an MBA from MIT.  He has been a visiting scholar at Stanford
  29. University.

  31. As a special offer to attendees, those completing an order for a beta copy
  32. of Longhand on the day of the talk will get a $100 discount: $395 instead of
  33. $495.

  81. The WPDO exists to serve the needs of PenPoint developers.  The WPDO holds
  82. monthly meetings where developers and GO representatives make technical
  83. presentations and answer YOUR questions.  Other WPDO services include news-
  84. letters, videotapes, a BBS, training classes, and distribution of tools for
  85. developers and sample programs.  The WPDO is an independent, non-profit
  86. organization, not a division of GO Corporation.
