- Hi,
-
- If it weren't for the 123 that HP had stuffed into the 95LX, I'd
- probably never had used it. But here I am trying _expense, and
- bookkeep, and beginning to like 'em.
-
- This 123 novice has a few queries ... help please.
-
- 1. How can I edit/delete/correct a transaction already entered in
- BOOKKEEP ?
-
- The bookkeep menus do not have such a feature, I was wondering
- if such a delete/correct could be done from "beneath" the macros
- by going into 123. Or would it mess up the macros ?
-
- 2. How can I print out an account book,or a log of all transactions ?
-
- The macros provide for report files, which give one consolidated
- figures. But I'd also like a full dump on paper, for records
- that require paper copy.
-
- Do I do this by "PRINT"-ing from the 123 menus' some fields
- that Bookkeep uses to mainatin the transactions ?
-
- There is a ShowAccounts ... I'm looking for a PrintAccounts.
-
- 3. I guess the transactions are all saved in bookkeep.wk1 file.
- (Am I correct ?)
-
- So what exactly do I do when I change months ? There is a menu
- Forward .. but do I first save the old bookkeep.wk1 file as
- Jan93.wk1, and kermit a new copy of bookkeep (guess not so)
- or merely issue a forward, and it will build a new month for
- me all automatically ?
-
- Confused, and dont want to loose all entries I've made by doing
- something wrong.
-
- 4. I dont recollect having entered a transaction for "boooks" for
- $10 cash. Was it there in the original file itself .. or did
- I type it while I was sleepwalking ? How do I rid myself of it.
-
- Book keep is neat .. the displays are neat and clean, and its pretty
- friendly to use.
-
- A few minor nits .. some typos/spellos (debet should be debit
- I think, and the "boooks" I refered to above).
-
- I wish a small manual for a 123 novice like me, or a Book FAQ would
- be very useful indeed. Thomas Danielson .. good job, and thanx for the
- package .. do you have any plans for such a manual please ?

- PS: Re. someone who said that the HP gains time with an adapter.
-
- Its is unlikely that the Adapter voltage would cause the clock to gain
- time. In general, such an overvoltage would cause the voltage
- regulator/power supply to cook, or if its too bad for the VLSIs to
- cook, releasing the blue smook trapped in them, that makes them tick.
- In general the crystal osc driving the clock should not gain time like
- that. I find it hard to believe it'd happen, even less likely in HP
- equipment (HP is the leading high stability lab equipment manuf, after
- all ... they routinely build oscillators whose accuracy around 1ppm is
- like (quoting FE Terman) "measuring the distance across the Atlantic
- ocean, US to Europe, accurate to an inch."
-
- In any case, I just ran a test, the HP running SETUP with an adapter,
-
- UNIX host (Synced to Internet) HP95LX
- Test begin Tue Jan 12 12:08:44 EST 1993 12:09:00
- Test end Tue Jan 12 12:32:43 EST 1993 12:33:00
-
- The above is accurate to order of Human response time, thats probably
- about 500msec.
-
- The report mentioned a 1 minute per hour gain in time, so I should
- have seen at least 24 seconds of gain. I did not.
