- A few days ago I posted an article about the external power supply
- affecting the real time clock on my HP95LX. I want to ammend that.
-
- I rechecked my results and found the following:
-
- On internal batteries, the timekeeping is accurate to 1 second a day
-
- On external power with the 95 switched off - same result <1 sec/day
-
- On external power with the 95 switched on and displaying the set up
- screen with time display in hh:mm:ss mode it gains NEARLY ONE MINUTE
- PER HOUR !!. The power supply is the Radio Shack 273-1455C which
- develops about 11.5 volts DC on open circuit.
-
- Several people commented that they ran their 95s on external power
- all the time and had no problems. Perhaps they were not switched on
- all the time. Would someone else care to repeat my experiment?
-
- I will try it on a variable supply and see what happens at lower
- voltages.
