- For 80x25 screens, see the list of machines below. Any CGA screen
- meets that requirement.
-
- Modems are available as PCMCIA cards, so any palmtop with a PCMCIA
- slot will satify "2.". The internal modems now are available at 14.4K data,
- 9600 fax, with an X-Jack so that nothing extends outside of the
- machine except when you have phone cord plugged in.
-
- An X-Jack is a slide out square on the side of the card, the square
- has wires extending into the center and the phone cord plugs in
- through the square. There are pictures of the X-Jack in magazine ads,
- but here's a weak try at an ascii drawing:
-
- Top view without phone cord:

- -----+ the wires that mate with the phone plug.

- In order to access my internet node while traveling, I would like
- a palmtop that:
-
- 1. Has a screen of sufficient capacity to make reading email feasible,
-
- and,
-
- 2. Has an internal modem, so that I don't need to carry extra baggage
- (which is why I want to use a palmtop to begin with)
-
- Thanks in advance for your advice.
