- Yikes, I forgot the two truly horrendous bugs.
-
- Random file system corruption caused by cold boot (CTRL-SHIFT-ON)
- This is documented elsewhere (FAQ?) Apparently at cold boot time,
- four random bytes are written into memory. If they overwrite the
- ramdisk multiple files are randomly corrupted (you get I/O ERROR
- when you try to view them with the viewer). This requires reformating
- of the disk and restoring everything from backup.
-
- Random spontaneous disappearances of files.
- This seems to happen while running the kermit server. Once, I entered
- the server, did nothing, and exited, and found 95buddy.sys had vanished.
- I live in terror of the day when something required to boot the system
- disappears.
-
-
- These bugs are truly horrible, and I hope that HP is working on a fix and
- will allow us to install it on our current machines.
-
- Oh, one more wish-list item: repeating TODO items. Like "take out the trash".
- or "send the rent check".
