  12. Where does the COMSPEC variable ideally point to? Until recently, I
  13. generally mapped the my USR volume  to g: (in the system defaylt login file)
  14. and set the COMSPEC to g:\dos . But I ran into problems when I
  15. configured a machine with local harddisk, where I wanted to have
  16. COMSPEC set to g:\dos, too. But I repeatedly ran into messages
  17. like "command.com could not be loaded. System halted".
  18. I now set COMSPEC to c:\dos in autoexec.bat after login, but
  19. this is only a bad hack, because once a new user logs in, his
  20. COMSPEC is set to g:\dos again :-( (bcause of the system login script.

  22. So should I set COMSPEC and the dos directoy to ?
