- Where does the COMSPEC variable ideally point to? Until recently, I
- generally mapped the my USR volume to g: (in the system defaylt login file)
- and set the COMSPEC to g:\dos . But I ran into problems when I
- configured a machine with local harddisk, where I wanted to have
- COMSPEC set to g:\dos, too. But I repeatedly ran into messages
- like "command.com could not be loaded. System halted".
- I now set COMSPEC to c:\dos in autoexec.bat after login, but
- this is only a bad hack, because once a new user logs in, his
- COMSPEC is set to g:\dos again :-( (bcause of the system login script.
-
- So should I set COMSPEC and the dos directoy to ?
- Thanks in advance!
