- Hi everyone, Happy New Year.
-
- I've creating a 'drop-box' for the users on my server. This allows them
- to 'send' files to each other.
-
- Novell 3.11 with Novell 4 MAC. I create a dir called INBOX with a dir
- for each user under here. Each user has full rights to his/her
- sub dir, and create write etc to the INBOX dir. (Rights flow downward
- so each user can create files in dir's that are on the same level.)
-
- I map drive I (for Inbox) to that user's dir. I use the Novell MENU prog.
- to ask which file is to be 'sent' and to whom it should go; then
- use Ncopy to copy the file (since each user can create fiels in another's
- dir the file get copied there) and then SEND to send amessage to the
- recipient that a new file has arrived on their I drive.
-
- Because they don't have read right they can't see the contents of others files,
- but could (I think) overwrite an existing file). I also couldn't find
- a simple way to have the file name trasmitted to the recipient as wellwell.
-
- Hope this helps
