- Hello all, I have picked up a Cabletron ether, it is 8-bit and is
- currently set thus:
-
- port: 300
- Irq : 5
- Dma : 1
-
- the driver inits and finds the card, somtimes the shell will load
- quickly, finding the server and other times is pauses and doens't find the
- server. ( Server is novell 3.11/20 user other 2 clients find the server with
- no problems, and its not the cable as the same plug is the 3rd clients' cable.)
-
- I have talked to cabletron, they say to use the E10ipx.com that I
- downloaded from them - it does function, however I can only get 18K/sec and
- 22K/sec reads and writes according to norton sysinfo(when it does load). The
- other 2 stations that I have been benchmarking to find this problem get
- somthing around 290K/s and 312K/s to the server. ( Benchmarking the same drive
- with the same user logged in.)
-
- This card was installed on an ipx/tcp-ip net, and a couple of jumpers
- are simply solder stripes. If anyone has ideas or help for me, please mail me.
