- I am having trouble rebooting one of our NeXT machines.
- The machines use NeXTStep 3.0.
-
- I tried to reboot it in all the possible ways(as mentioned in
- the book NeXTSTEP NETWORK and SYS. ADM.on page: 235-237) except
- the emergency shutdowns. Everytime I try to reboot, the machine
- after running fsck and obtaining the hostname from the master
- server, chokes by saying,
-
- /: file system full
- IO error on pageout: error = 28
- vnode_pageout : failed!
-
- Anyone have any idea what the error no. 28 is? I tried to look
- it up in the above mentioned manual. But I couldn't find it. I
- think that fsck runs fine since one of the rebooting messages says
- file system clean.
-
- What is pageout, anyway?
-
- (I don't know if this matters, but all the other client machines
- are running just fine).I assume therefore that the master server
- is running fine too.
-
- I appreciate it very much if someone could help me with this.
-
-
- thanks very much
-
- sincerely
