  14. I am having trouble rebooting one of our NeXT machines. 
  15. The machines use NeXTStep 3.0.

  17. I tried to reboot it in all the possible ways(as mentioned in 
  18. the book NeXTSTEP NETWORK and SYS. ADM.on page: 235-237) except
  19. the emergency shutdowns. Everytime I try to reboot, the machine
  20. after running fsck and obtaining the hostname from the master
  21. server, chokes by saying,

  24. IO error on pageout: error  = 28
  25. vnode_pageout : failed!

  27. Anyone have any idea what the error no. 28 is? I tried to look
  28. it up in the above mentioned manual. But I couldn't find it. I
  29. think that fsck runs fine since one of the rebooting messages says
  30. file system clean.

  32. What is pageout, anyway?

  34. (I don't know if this matters, but all the other client machines
  35. are running just fine).I assume therefore that the master server
  36. is running fine too.
