- I have put a new version of the front end App for use with Mouse-X in the
- archive on foxtrot.ccmrc.ucsb.edu. This new version of the App is compiled to
- run only under OS 3.0 I have configured it specifically to work with the new
- X11 R5 color Xnext server binary which works on the NeXT color Turbo machines.
- A copy of this binary is also included in the tarfile, which is in ~ftp/pub as
- MouseX-R5-color.tar.Z. There is a text file called MouseX-R5-color.README
- which gives additional information on setting things up. BE SURE TO READ THIS
- BEFORE TRYING TO USE THE NEW FRONT END. A word to the wise is sufficient.
-
- This version of the front end App allows you to pop back and forth between X
- and NextStep in the same manner as the R4 versions did. It also has the added
- feature of a menu for restarting Xnext and for hiding the App itself.
-
- Though there is currently no version of the R5 Xnext which will run on the
- monochrome Turbo, I am planning to get one built and tested in the next month.
- I will post when I have results.
