  26. That's what I understand from Adobe- they are sold through the usual Mac 
  27. outlets and come as Mac format Adobe Illustrator files.  (you can get 
  28. samples from Adobe's FaxBack at 415-968-7701, doc # 1058).

  30. to use the patterns in Virtuoso, what i did is:
  31. open the .ai file in Virtuoso (Collector's Ed. samples are in the
  32. Illustrator /gallery files under patterns and arrows, and Virtuoso
  33. reads and writes Illustrator format).
  34. rubberband around the sample pattern you want (the medium-size
  35. example with the repeating elements and clipping box)
  36. ungroup multiple times
  37. select and lock the clipping box
  38. rubberband around again to select everything else
  39. cut it
  40. unlock the clipping box and select it
  41. paste inside
  42. copy to pasteboard
  43. paste in in the Virtuoso tile fill inspector
  44.  
  45. this is necessary because Virtuoso fills can't have elements that 
  46. are tiled already or are already EPS.  cutting and pasting them
  47. between Illustrator and Virtuoso crashes Virtuoso.  and you want
  48. to have only the repeating element parts inside the bounding box
  49. copied to your pasteboard.  the arrows and borders can just be
  50. dragged and dropped and sized.
