- Hi,
- I upgraded a slab the other day (from 2.1 to 3.0) and while it
- went well for the most part, there were some problems. 1) UUCP is broken.
- I can uupoll and send mail fine, but my machine is not running any of the
- X./* files that have been piling up. 2) utmp and wtmp are no longer being
- updated correctly when folks log in. I *had* the 2.1 MOTD running, but I
- think I've gotten rid of it. Everything else (that I've tried) seems to be
- O.K.. I assume these are permissions problems of some kind, but I have no
- idea what they might be. Any ideas? (when folks log in a message like:
- (opening wtmp: bad file number) appears on the console. Also, root's
- logins are recorded alright ???)
-
- thanks!
