- John, I've printed envelopes of all sizes, shapes, and thicknesses
- using my NeXT printer,and in all cases, I've found the method of
- greatest reliability is to use the manual feed. Some envelopes,
- particularly the thicker ones, need a bit of a push to get them
- in past what feels like a curve in the track, but once the feeder
- gets a good grip after that point, there's no problem.
- I don't mind handfeeding them, because I find that the heat often
- causes the envelope glues to be activated, so they usually need
- to be opened as soon as they've dropped out the other side of
- the printer, otherwise they get glued permanently shut in several
- spots.
