  12.    Hi out there...  I have a Mono 'Station that I'm looking to put a
  13. CD-ROM onto (I'm also adding RAM and a big hard disk, but that's
  14. pretty well-understood by now...  though certainly still appreciated in
  15. some camps ;-).  The CD-ROM is in preparation of a 3.0 upgrade (3.1?)
  16. at some point in the near future, so I hope 2.1 and 3.0 supports the
  17. same CD-ROM drives.

  19.    I guess what I'm after is information on what CD-ROMs will work OK
  20. and which won't.  I'm not looking for a miracle list of some sort...
  21. just some e-mail of success stories (and horror stories, although
  22. these are somewhat less interesting).  Needless to say, if I get
  23. a whiff of more than one or two pieces of useful info, I'll post a
  24. summary.  No point otherwise.

  30. P.S.:   On second thought...  I had heard somewhere that the NeXT SCSI-II
  31.         was not a true SCSI-II...  what gives?  The drive I am looking
  32.         at right now is a 1.7GB Panther Maxtor, which is SCSI-II...  and
  33.         it would be nice to use it that way.
