  24. Thanks for the answer. My disk (as I said in the original post)
  25. is in an external box (The original that came with it). I included
  26. this answer because it was the only one sure of the problem and had
  27. previous experience with it. Other answers included:
  28.  
  29. 1) Check jumper settings
  30. 2) Bad or loose cable , terminator etc.
  31. 3) The disk is dying. Exercise your warranty
  32. 4) Voltage sensor deciding it does not have enough power to spin.
  33. and this one:
  34. 5) Disk is getting hot. Fujitsu's have this problem. It happend to me.

  36. I placed the disk away from my slab and I'll wait and see. The problem
  37. did not re-occur yet since the original post about a week ago. (Fingers
  38. crossed)
