- I am having problems with a particular SIT file, and I was wondering
- if anyone could shed any light on what's going on. Okay, to the facts:
-
- 1) FTp'd a file called "thel*.sit.hqx" (thel something-or-other) from
- wuarchive.wustl.edu, in the /mirrors3/archive.umich/edu/mac/game/adventure
- (FTP'd in BINARY mode)
-
- 2) Zmodemed the file (all 1 meg of it) to my machine using Zterm 0.9
-
- 3) used Binhex 4.0 to un-binhex the HQX file
-
- 4) I land up with thel*.SIT (doing a GET INFO says it's a Stuffit 1.5.1
- document) - HOWEVER it does not have the typical Stuffit logo on the
- icon, and while double-clicking on it will load in Stuffit,
- Stuffit will not recognize it as a Stuffit file (i.e. it doesn't
- show up when I try to do an OPEN FILE)
-
- What am I doing wrong here? This pattern of 1 2 3 (and un-Sitting)
- usually works. I didn't check for any extraneous header information
- above the "(this file must be converted with Bixhex 4.0)" line - would
- that cause this?
-
- If anyone can help me out, it would be appreciated. No doubt I'll
- possibly run into this problem again. Thanks...
