- >BUT, I did find instructions for the Installer to place Geneva, Monaco,

-
- Yes, it did that on my IIsi as well.

- ***** FLAME ON *****
-
- Why is it that Apple insists they know better than I how my system should be
- configured?
-
- Why is it that Apple insists that TrueType fonts need to be there even if I
- already have PostScript equivalents installed?
-
- Why is it that Apple insists that I need DAs such as their silly Map and Puzzle
- and Alarm Clock and EasyWhatever when I have taken a lot of trouble to get rid
- of these things in the past?
-
- Why is it that Apple insists that I need a certain set of sounds installed in
- my System file, when I have taken a lot of trouble to get rid of them in the
- past?
-
- I can see installing these from a "new" or "clean" install, but damn it, the
- installer is supposed to *preserve* my configuration, not screw it up!

- ***** HYPERFLAME ON *****
-
- Now that I've had to actually *pay* for an upgrade, I have for the first time
- had an installation completely fail. I had to go back to 7.0.1 to get a
- system that would operate.
-
- Why? I had more than 128 files in my Font folder. Well, sure guys, I had lots
- of PostScript outline font files there. 131 to be exact. And you added more
- with your installer not bothering to look to see if Symbol, Palatino, Times,
- Courier, and Helvetica are already there! And you blessed the Font folder
- with New York (which I don't want) and a SECOND copy of Geneva, Chicago, and
- Monaco.
-
- System worked before upgrade. Crashed regularly after upgrade. Thanks Apple,
- now I see what I paid for.
