- I used that replacement and successfully made additions using ResEdit so
- that it works well with my IIcx (Sys 7.1).

- Within the System file you need to change the mask image (within icl8,
- etc.) from a trash can to the recycle symbol, or else the outline is still
- a trash can. You also must give the trash can IDs to the recycle symbol
- IDs: -3993 (empty icon) and -3984 (full icon--dot in the middle). Of
- course, this means you either delete the trash can icons or give them
- different IDs.
-
- Within the Finder file I changed some STR#s so that "Trash Can" now reads
- "Recycle", "Empty Trash" under the Special menu reads "Recycle!", and
- references to the trash can and deleting make reference to a recycling bin
- and recycling instead. I changed the following STR#s: 8750, 10250, 11500,
- and 11750 (contains menu bar and desktop icon references). There are
- probably more references, but I haven't bothered to look yet.
-
- ****You do this at your own risk*****, and I recommend altering copies of
- your System and Finder files, not the originals. In fact, the only way to
- alter Finder is to work on a copy or to reboot your Mac from a system
- floppy and work within that system.
-
- If you like, I have two ResEdit files (one for System and one for Finder)
- that I can mail to you, as long as you can unBinHex them. I've considered
- sending them to sumex, but, once again, I haven't gotten around to it.
