  12. I am looking for a Romanian version of the 'Times' font.
  13. Are there any users out there who might be in posession of such a thing?
  14. Does the name 'Fdtimes' ring a bell?

  16. BACKGROUND:
  17. The head of our Modern Languages Dept. has had several books published in
  18. Romanian.  These have mainly been printed in Romania.  Now, however, he has
  19. a IIsi and is doing his own DTP.  Thus he needs a Romanian font -- which in
  20. effect is Times with a few squiggles added above & below some of the
  21. letters.

  23. SOLUTIONS?
  24. I got Fontographer onto the job and modified the standard Times font. 
  25. However, what Fontographer produces isn't quite as clear as the (English)
  26. Times which is built into the Personal LW's, especially the screen fonts.
  27. I believe that there is a font called 'Fdtimes' which is exactly what I'm
  28. looking for.  The person in question managed to bring back a font called
  29. 'Fdtimes' when he last returned from Romania, however, its only the bitmap
  30. version -- we need the PostScript or TrueType companion to it.
  31. An archie search has revealed nothing.
  32. Thus it seems that my only alternatives are (a) to stick with the Font I've
  33. done in Fontographer, which is rather cruddy, or (b) try and get in touch
  34. with Apple Romania (!) or the printer who gave us the bitmap versions --
  35. via Email?? fat chance.  It'd be by snail which would take months.

  37. Any advice (incl. names of vendors etc.) is appreciated.
