  15. I'm most probably going to buy a Mac-System, but I've got a whole lot of questinos:

  19. 1. I'm intrested in the new DUO-System. Has anybody informations about and experiences 
  20.    with this Hardware?
  21. 2. Is the harddisk manufractured by Quantum or better, or is it a low price one?
  22. 3. In a prospectus there are many unclear datas. Why do the displayable resolutions 
  23.    differ with the type of the monitor? (640*400 with a 13" MAC-Monitor, more with a   
  24.    16" one)
  25. 4. A Mac DUO system can display 256 colors or grayscales, or, with enhanced VRAM, more 
  26.    than 32000 colors. May one choose out of 16.7 mio. colors in each configuration? Is 
  27.    VRAM enhancement really only an addition of Ram?
  28. 5. Is it possible to use a NEC 4FG with the DUO-System's docking station? Are there
  29.    any restrictions of the resolution (question 2)?
  30. 6. The displayment of graphics slows down the CPU. The RAM is splitted into fast- and 
  31.    video-Ram, isn't it?
  32. 7. Is there a MMU on board of a DUO-System? Can one put it in?
  33. 8. How long can you work with the battery and how long does it take to repower?

  36. 1. How much is a good C++ Compiler with Sourcelevel-debugger?
  37. 2. How much is a D-Base like data-processing language?
  38. 3. I know it sounds kiddy, but are there good (complex) strategie and simulation games 
  39.    available? (especially: Civilization)
  40. 4. Is there a good public-domain scene?

  44. 1. I wasted time & money with the Amiga system. I know the Mac is an established 
  45.    business-computer, but I've heard rumors that Macintosh has financial problems. Is 
  46.    this true? If yes, are they serious? Do you think the system is also endagered by 
  47.    the masses of MS-Dos computers?
  48. 2. The MAC-system is best in desktop publishing. But are there many systems in smaller 
  49.    buisness (doctors, lawyers, retail dealers and so on)? This is the target group 
  50.    which I want to develop comercial software for.
