- Here's a couple other ideas:

- Use ResEdit, Norton Disk Editor, or something else to set the "invisible"
- bit on the Desktop files to visible. The restart from disk tools and
- trash the desktop files. The mac will be forced to create new ones, doing
- so much more thouroughly than command-option.

- If that fails, try replacing your Finder from your system disks and go
- through the procedures again.

- Have you run Apple's Disk First Aid 7.1? This is a new release, supposedly
- much better than 7.0 at fixing this bug. available at ftp.apple.com
