  16. I had no problems installing 7.1 on my SE/30.  Whenever I use any kind of installer
  17. program, I always boot with the CAPS key down to disable extension loading.  Did you
  18. run the new Compatibility Checker and follow its advice about removing system type
  19. files it didn't like (although it says to remove a lot of stuff that really is compatible)?

  21. You might have a hardware problem.  Bad disk, SCSIitis, etc.

  23. If you have a decent backup, why not reformat your system disk and try to install
  24. clean?  If that still doesn't work, and you're still confident of the quality of your
  25. install disks, you'll need to check the hardware.
