- I wonder as well. After all, Apple says it will be distributing some
- extensions later in the year to supplement Sys 7.1 that it originally
- had planned to include in it. So the talk of what would be Sys 8 that were
- started when it was realized Sys 7 was to fall short of expectations
- seems to be far off in the future. But I'm wondering if Sys 8 will
- ever be a reality - what about Pink? Taligent makes no claims of the
- machines on which it will run (or is that makes claims of running on no
- machines?), but I think we can be rest assured that Macs will be one.
- I certainly wouldn't expect Apple to put out a rival operating system
- to Pink if Pink is very popular....but maybe I'm wrong about this point.
-
- I've been so pleased with the utter stability of Sys 6.0.3 and have been
- able to find and run just about everything I need (and enjoy) that I've
- been rather reluctant to go up to Sys 7. But since it seems as though it
- will be a long time before anything better than 7.1 will come out,
- I'm tempted to go ahead and upgrade...
