  12. Yesterday I grabbed Apple's Compatibility Checker v2.0 from
  13. ftp.apple.com, and was shocked to find that my System 7.01* Mac is going
  14. to need yet anotherpurge/upgrade for System 7.1 (which is on its way
  15. down here...).   Is it really this bad?

  17. The Checker lists the following as 'potentially incompatible':
  18.  ApplicationMenu    Version 4.0
  19.  E-Machines    Version 3.4 (E-machines screen cp)
  20.  MacTCP        Version 1.1 (OK, we know this goes up to v1.1.1)
  21.  Notify        Version 2.11 (Novell 4 Mac software from Novell)
  22.  SuperClock!    Version 3.9.1

  24. Can someone advise if these are really OK with System 7.1?

  26. The Checker lists some old applications as Incompatible (fair enough),
  27. but also adds the following to the Incompatible list:

  29.  Microsoft Help    Version 3.1 from: Microsoft Corp.
  30.  Netware Control Center    Version 2.11 from: Novell, Inc.

  32. Both these are recent arrivals, so I question the correctness of the
  33. Checker.  The Checker does not provide any more info about upgrading
  34. these.  M'soft Help is for either Excel 4 or Word 5.1 (don't know
  35. which).  Can someone advise if these are really OK with System
  36. 7.1?
