  13. I am having a problem with Finder aliases on a remote volume accessed by
  14. AppleTalk Remote Access.  I want to install a new program on the remote
  15. volume and then put an alias to the program in the Startup Items folder,
  16. so that the program will run the next time the remote machine is
  17. restarted.

  19. I copied the program out there, then had the Finder make an alias by
  20. selecting the icon on the remote disk and saying Make Alias. 
  21. Unfortunately, the remote machine could not handle this alias correctly
  22. when rebooting.  The alert message below appeared:

  24. The alias "CSRavn" could not be opened because the shared disk "Codar
  25. Data" which contains the original item could not be found on the network.
  26.  
  27. I don't want it to look on the network -- Codar Data is its own hard disk!
  28. How can I create an alias remotely that will be valid for the remote
  29. machine?
