  31. Todd,
  32. have you a VERY big hard disk, and not used the Shutdown menu to switch off 
  33. your Mac?
  34. If so, the mac inspects the complete hard disk for any errors/defects/
  35. leftovers from a recent system crash (which needs big times on big volumes).
