  19. Excuse me, but if the machine is off in the morning, how is software going
  20. to run to turn it on? It would be *very* dangerous software with much juju
  21. which could startup a Mac which is off. I would be inclined to inspect my
  22. CPU with an axe if I saw my machine turn itself on.

  24. Automatically restarting is possible, as is automatically shutting down.

  26. It is possible to have additional external hardware start the Mac at a
  27. preset time or when a phone call is received. ADB attached modems can
  28. "press" the power-on switch on call receipt. Or, an external power timer
  29. can turn on the power if you've got a Mac with a locking power switch ala
  30. Plus/SE/Classic/LC or the IIci/IIfx switch which can be pushed in and
  31. twisted to lock it down.
