  13. Can someone tell me what exactly the control panel monitor gamma
  14. adjustment on MACs does?  I tried to turn it on and off, and restarted
  15. my computer, but didn't notice much (or any) change in the images I was
  16. displaying.  I assume that the control panel setting should change
  17. image displays for all applications -- I'm using the picture command in
  18. Hypercard.  Am I doing something wrong?  What gamma value is being used
  19. when the gamma correction is turned on?  I'm familiar with imaging
  20. packages that allow gamma correction values 1<=gamma<=2, where a
  21. setting of 1 is uncorrected, but there's no way to set the gamma value
  22. on the MAC control panel, so how does it know what value to use?  Any
  23. help would be greatly appreciated!
