  26. a preprinted manual in a spiffy binder. And in just a few short
  27. months, it was one of my most important tools...

  44. many of the other Mac Developers...
  45. I was never so shocked to see a magazine article say that a piece of
  46. software "Only crashed once"...
  47. This is an attitude brought on by the rush-it-to-market actions of the
  48. big software houses, who value timing more than quality...

  52. the point where I fully expect the guy who made the original post is
  53. going to start seeing GNU spies soon...

  56. incensed that they were going to sell his editor, instead of following
  57. the practice of leaving it out for others too improve and learn

  63. subsidied by the state, but the was just a suggestion...

  65. I believe the thing he objects to is Corporate Raiders with no
  66. knowledge of computers beyond how to use their spreadsheets making
  67. money off of the sweat of honest programmers, and honest programmers
  68. turning into Corporate greedheads...

  70. If you feel threatened by GNU, do what Cygnus did! (I tip my hat to
  71. Cygnus)
  72. Start your own GNU support group and charge largish fees for largish
  73. work. Make the software work better, and do something commercial with
  74. it, like keeping books for people, or making neat animations... But
  75. DAMMIT, work for your money!

  78. distribution and complaining that he threatens your jobs.
  79. If AT&T were seling that package, they'd charge $10,000 and you
  80. wouldn't get source code...
