  13. My demo just arrived in AUSTRALIA!

  15. These guys are VERY serious about getting their product out to the people.

  17. The demo product looks like any other Mac mini drawing app.

  19. The demo source looks clean and is certainly a lot simpler than a TCL
  20. equivalent would be (how much of that is due to judicious choice of example
  21. I don't know!).

  23. There is a self-displaying document included with a full review of OOPC and
  24. a number of further explanations of the product.

  26. In addition, I have had two responses direct from emine, in the past month,
  27. as a result of posting to them. The product sounds VERY interesting. The
  28. choices in dispatching and class design seem to parallel a lot of the
  29. decisions that Apple have made with Dylan (which I take as a big positive
  30. that emine have got it right).

  32. My big reservation is, they do NOT have a class browser for the source - just
  33. an add-on object-browser for the Think Debugger. I have made this point
  34. forcibly to emine but it would help to have some further comments forwarded to
  35. them from the net.

  37. I don't know about the general opinion, but I think it is ESSENTIAL to have
  38. a class browser for source, particularly for:
  39. - maintenance
  40. - incremental development involving adding methods to several classes
  41. - integrating and understanding other people's class libs.

  43. OOPC could be the poor man's way of getting oo cross-platform (given the
  44. suggested $10k price tags for Bedrock mentioned recently).
