- We are looking for a Macintosh software engineer to join our Data Products
- group. Applied Biosystems, Inc. (ABI), in Foster City, CA, is a leading
- supplier of systems for biotechnology research. We have recently released a
- number of new software products (mostly MacApp-based) which augment ABI's
- traditional instrument product line, and we're about to embark on some new
- projects.

- ABI was incorporated about eleven years ago and has been an active Mac
- developer for the past 4 years. We have an enthusiastic and experienced team of
- Mac, Unix, and embedded systems programmers. With more than a thousand
- employees worldwide, we have the benefits and resources of a large company,

- developing state-of-the-art equipment, software, and research tools for the

- Essential Requirements:
- o 3+ years of experience in commercial software product development
- o 2+ years of C++ programming experience
- o 2+ years experience in developing Macintosh applications
- o Self direction and desire to participate in product cycle from
- design to release to customers
- o CS degree or equivalent experience

- Strongly Preferred:
- o MacApp experience
- o Understanding of Mac Toolbox and debugging
- o Background in biology or scientific applications, or in other
- data-intensive areas
- o Experience with network programming, distributed computing,
- data structures, algorithm development or database design
