- Okay, here's the situation: I bought an Ehman ext. HD several
- years ago for my SE. Worked fine. I then attached it to a Mac II
- I have (on loan) and it's worked fine for a few years now. I
- just recently bought a MacIIsi (good deal) and tried hooking
- it up, but I get a sad (dead?) mac error (I think it was
- 00000000F 000000001). I tried several different arrangements,
- changed the SCSI ID, I *believe* it's terminated correctly.
-
- I've also got a Logitec hand scanner that hooks up to the
- SCSI port. I hooked that up to the si with no hardware complaints
- (I didn't actually try it, though). Since I know that *it* has
- terminating resistors in it (that I had removed because it was hooked
- up to the middle of the SCSI chain), I put in the resistors and
- tried the theory that the HD wasn't terminating properly.. no help.
- Still sad mac.
-
- For further clues, in the previous setup (with the Mac II), if the
- external HD wasn't powered on (didn't have to be ready, just turned on)
- the Mac wouldn't boot, just sit there with a grey screen and wait.
- The IIsi acts much the same.
-
- The si does access the ext. HD just before dying (the access light
- blinks once).
-
- I *know* there's someone that can help me. I'm not great with
- SCSI termination setups (like, is there something I have to do
- inside the si??)..
-
- Any and all help is appreciated.
-
- Thanks,
-
- Ron
