- To read MS-DOS disks on SUNs you can use the public domain (?) software
- package called mtools.
-
- However, what I find much easier is: suntar (available on sumex-aim
- for example, see directory info-mac/util). This lets your Mac read
- HD floppies that were written on (for instance) a SUN using the unix
- tar or bar commands. Suntar also has other nice features, e.g.
- certain automatic translations (MacBinary, BinHex, Ascii etc.).
- It can also create tar archives on HD floppies. This requires no
- special formatting because the low-level format of HD disks is "standard"
- (that is, the same for MS-DOS, SUN, Mac).
