- Of course, no init is really "essential", but many are sure nice to have
- around, and contribute to a more pleasant and workable environment. Here is my
- list of inits (all are control panels) that I would reccomend for a new user.
- Of course, some inits would just confuse a new user, so I list only ones that
- are basically hassle-free:
-
- Window Shade (nice to have when you have a lot of windows open and it gets
- cluttered)
- Greg's Buttons (just plain makes the controls and such more pleasant)
- AutoMenus (automatically pulls down menus when the cursor passes over
- them; very nice)
- Mouse2 (just my opinion, but I HATE slow mice ;)
- CursorAnimator (livens up the interface a little, relieves tedium of bland
- mouse cursors standard to Mac OS)
- MenuChoice
- or
- BeHeirarchic (enables heirarchical Apple Menu; very VERY nice)
- Extensions Manager (because new users aren't new for long ...;)
-
-
- I think these really help make the system friendlier and more convenient, but
- that is just my opinion...
