- Yes, my son's Mac LC II has 4 MB, and runs System 7.1. However, he
- complains alot about insufficient RAM.

- On the IIci, Bank 1 must have 4 identical SIMMs. Bank 2 may also
- have a group of 4 SIMMs.
- On my IIci, I have four 256K SIMMs in Bank 1, and four 4MB SIMMs in
- Bank 2, for a total of 17MB. Note that the internal display memory is
- from bank 1, plus I have configured the disk cache (from the Memory
- control panel) to use the rest of this first megabyte. This is the
- optimal arrangement, whereby display memory fetches occur only from
- Bank 1 and instruction fetches occur only from Bank2 (so, no memory
- contention).

-
- On the IIci, Bank 2 may be empty. All four slots of Bank 1 must be
- populated, for the display to work.
