- After a co-worker installed 7.1 and was appalled at the memory hogging going
- on in his 8mb IIsi, we're looking into buying tons o' memory. My questions are:
-
- 1. Can System 7.1 be set up to use less than the 5 megs that my
- co-worker says it uses?
-
- 2. I have a IIci with 8 1mb SIMMS installed; can I purchase, for
- example, 4 2mb SIMMS or 2 4mb SIMMS, remove the appropriate number
- of 1mb SIMMS, and install the new memory? In other words, can you
- mix and match SIMMS quantities?
-
- 3. Will the Mac still work if you have empty memory slots?
-
- Thanks in advance for any answers you can provide.
