- Access PC with either Word/Mac 5.x or WordPerfect Mac 2.x would be best.
- I am very happy with such an arrangement; in fact I'm impressed with how
- well it works. While Soft PC or Soft AT will work running Wordperfect,
- it's just s-l-o-w by comparison if you are used to using a real PC.
-
- He will need to use the "Apple File Exchange" that comes bundled with the
- Mac O/S disks. It works but is slightly awkward and reminds many folks of
- teh Font/DA mover. I suggest that you buy "Access PC" for about $55-60 and
- use that instaed of the free Apple File Exchange as it is more elegant
- and transparent than Apple File Exchange. DOS disks act just like
- MAc disks and appear as icons on the screen.
-
- I think it best he use WordPerfect Mac or Word Mac. Word Mac 5.x reads and
- writes in WordPerfect 5.1-PC fomat. While I use WP 5.1 on a PC I use
- Word 5 on a Mac, even though I have WordPerfect Mac too. Both Mac
- wordprocessors are good though.

-
- I would buy Access PC; Apple's PC exchange is basically a more expensive version
- ($60-75) of an old version of "Access PC". (But you do get the pretty
- Apple Logo on the disks, it must be worth $10.) Dayna DOSmounter
- is a third option but I found it to be buggy.
-
- All of these opinions are from my firsthand expereince.
