- I'm in the process of creating a stack which will be used for
- pronunciation training with deaf students. I'm thinking of using
- MacRecorder to allow them to record their attempts and storing
- those attempts as "snd" resources of the student's stack. This
- is a fairly straight-forward process but it leaves me with a few
- concerns:
-
- 1) the faculty requesting this project don't want to restrict
- the students in terms of length of time of utterances and
- there are A LOT of words that they will have to record --
- consequently I'm worried about how large these stacks will grow
- with so many "snd" resources.
-
- 2) the recording XCMD's supplied from Farallon are weird in
- that the _slightest_ movement of the mouse signals that you're done
- recording (the alternative is to set a time limit and as stated
- above that's not an option here). Since you have to click the mouse
- to begin recording, any slight side-to-side movement of the mouse
- turns off the recording. I have trouble getting in a clean click
- even knowing the problem so I'm sure the students will be really
- confused as to the operation.
-
- Anyone have any experience using MacRecorder? Can you offer any
- suggestions for its use in light of the concerns I've stated above,
- or better yet, alternatives other than MacRecorder?
-
- Thanks in advance,
- Cea
