  21. If you select "Use larger print area" from the options, you can
  22. print on legal size paper with quarter inch margins left and
  23. right and half inch top and bottom.
  24. Since the new driver was issued, Apple has discontinued its
  25. memory upgrade kit.

  30. Although the 7.2 driver has a creation date of Fri. Mar 6, 1992,
  31. it is considered to be part of System 7.1 and therefore is
  32. subject to Apple's new pay to play policy.

  34. It's been shipping with new printers for several months now. You
  35. might try visiting your local Apple authorized scumsucker. Assume
  36. the position (i.e. on your knees) and ask for a copy.

  38. If you can find a BBS with the AMUG "BBS In A Box", it's on that
  39. CD, apparently by mistake, in the Apple software section. Look
  40. for the LS Install disk image file.

  42. Several months ago Mark Johnson, the keeper of ftp.apple.com
  43. mentioned that he would try to get the suits to authorized
  44. placing the driver on that machine.

  46. You might want to write him (I think he's: mjohnson@apple.com)
  47. and ask if he's making any progress with the marketing and legal
  48. weasels. Please note that Mr. Johnson does not make those
  49. decisions himself. A polite request rather than a demand or whine
  50. is more likely to motivate him to seek permission to post 7.2.

  57. The upgrade consists of plugging four individual 4 X 256 chips
  58. into sockets on the LS's circuit board and moving a jumper from
  59. .5MB to 1MB. The chips cost about $5 each by mail order. Apple's
  60. upgrade was being sold for as much as $149. The upgrade, which
  61. does not effect the speed of the printer, is unnecessary if you
  62. have the 7.2 driver.
