  25. According to the latest catalog from one of the local computer retailers here
  26. in Columbus (Micro Center in case anybody cares), HP currently sells 3
  27. inkjet printers for the Mac.  These are the:

  29.        Deskwriter--black & white printing only. Uses single black cartridge.
  30.  
  31.        DeskWriter C--black & white & color printing.  Uses a single tri-color
  32.                         (yellow, red, Blue) cartridge.  Black is a composite
  33.                         rather than a true black.
  34.  
  35.        DeskWriter 550C--Black & white & color printing.  Uses both a black
  36.                            and Color cartridge to integrate black and color
  37.                            printing.

  40. The DeskWriter & DeskWriter C are listed at $349 & $499 respectively after $50
  41. mail in rebate from HP.  The 550C is $729 and the rebate offer does not apply.

  43. Two weeks ago I purchased a 550C from OSU's computer store for $677 (edu.
  44. price).  So far I'm very pleased with it.  Color printing is very impressive.
  45. If you need color and can afford it, get the 550C.
