- I have one PowerBook 180, with the "VGA adaptor lead" that came in the box
- and a fairly standard Microvitec VGA monitor and lead. My problem is that
- the leads will not connect up.
-
- The VGA lead that comes with the monitor terminates with a connector with
- three rows of pins (like most VGA leads) which the adaptor from Apple
- expects to connect to a 2-row 25-pin D-type.
-
- The Apple dealer shrugs and says he doesn't really know about PC stuff can't
- help. I've considered violence, but I'm not sure it would do any good. The
- PC people I've seen have never seen a VGA connector of the sort supplied by
- Apple. I'm beginning to feel that while Apple is trying to entice PC users
- into the fold with all sorts of promises if connectivity and interoperability,
- their dealers just don't want to know about anything to do with PC products.
-
- Does anyone out there have a clue what I need to obtain to hook this
- monitor up? If you know the pin-outs I can cope with making up a connector
- myself. If nobody can help, perhaps someone can lend me a baseball bat
- for the next time I visit the Apple dealer!
-
- Thanks in advance, Andrew
