- In Apple's 1/6/92 press release on the new workgroup printers, there is the
- following statement:
-
- >>>>>
- As a special introductory offer, Apple will ship the LaserWriter Pro 600
- with 8MB of RAM, enabling users to take advantage of 600 dpi resolution and the
- superior grayscale printing capabilities of PhotoGrade.
- <<<<<
-
- I just visited two Apple dealers who were completely unaware of this offer.
- Both of them thought that the LW Pro 600's that they had in stock were shipped
- with 4MB, and they had no paperwork describing how to obtain the additional
- RAM. Does anyone know what is going on here?
-
- OK, let's now assume that if I buy the LW600 now, I do get the additional
- 4MB RAM. Is this the same as the PhotoGrade upgrade kit (M5861G/A), or
- do I still need that kit for PhotoGrade or 600 dpi printing?
-
- By the way, the new Apple Lasers look like very slick machines. A couple of
- months ago, I was ready to pop for the LaserWriter NTR or the T.I. microLaser
- Turbo. A little voice on the net whispered "wait a few weeks," and I'm
- glad I did.
