- While visiting Columbus, Ohio for Christmas break I stopped at
- a local mac retail MicroCenter. While I was there they hooked up
- the 16" Apple monitor to the internal video support port on their
- IIVXcd and it ran beautifully (even 16bit color). They had
- IIVXCDs adn Quadra 950s there stack to the cealing. I could have
- slapped some money down and walked out with one right there.
-
- Made me kind of angry because I order a IIVXcd when they were announced
- months ago (throught the campus reseller). Nothing yet.
-
- I played with the IIvx for awhile. It seemed a little snappier
- speed wise than the IIci sitting next to it. The cd rom drive SCREAMS!
- I played with some of the demo roms sitting around. I was impressed.
-
- When I saw pictures of the IIvx in MacUser, MacWorld and MacLeak,
- I mean MacWeek, it looked rather ugly. When I saw it in real life
- I was surprised that it looked much nicer. I thought it looked better
- than it companion IIci sitting next to it. Apple has created a non-
- photogenic Mac.
-
- After using it I was pleased with my choice. Originally I had planned
- on buying a IIci but the 16bit color and cdrom drive made getting a
- IIvx ideal.
-
- I am glad with my choice.
