- The best price on 14.4 modems that I've seen are the Magic Modems
- (supposedly a relabeled Zoom, but I've heard conflicting stories), which
- go for about $260 (new). You can find an add for them in Macworld (I've
- got a ZyXEL myself).
- As for using IBM clone modems, you should be able to (with the correct
- cable, which you can get at your local computer store (I got mine at
- Egghead) - make sure to get a high speed cable) use it. You can find
- free/shareware modem software on the net.
