  35. Well, I bough a performa 600CD and am quite pleased.  This is my first
  36. mac, so I can make no comparisons.  I thought briefly about the vx,
  37. but was swayed with the free software and decent sized disk (160mb).
  38. I was certainly lusting after the IIvx for the increased performance,
  39. but since I too am using it mostly for home use (ie: wife and
  40. soon-to-arrive kid) the deal seemed too good to pass up.  For the
  41. record, I got the 600CD for $2399 and the performa plus display for
  42. $399.  If you have little kids just learning to read, you (or
  43. actually, they) may be impressed with the Cindarella CD.  And Claris
  44. works seems just fine for home use type stuff.
