Because I have a sticky hard drive which often won't spin up if I shut my
machine down for any significant period of time, I leave my Mac IIcx on all
the time, and simply turn the monitor off at night. (I have a screen saver,
but I figure the best screen saver is turning the thing off.) I've had no
problems, but will probly replace the tiny (40MB) drive anyway.
As for rebooting, I just do a manual reboot every couple of days to clean
out the memory and get things sorted out.
And we almost never get thunderstorms in Vancouver.
